BLIS® with Cross-Traffic Alert

Available BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with cross-traffic alert is a cutting-edge technology that can help alleviate a common driving inconvenience. BLIS uses radar to monitor the blind spot zone, which is about 10 feet from the back of the bumper to the outside mirrors. When a vehicle is detected, an amber light displays in the sideview mirror. Cross-traffic alert can notify you if it detects approaching traffic when you’re slowly backing out of a parking spot or driveway. It might not seem like it, but Dodge offers a hefty number of Charger variants—there are nine individual trim levels, not counting all-wheel-drive versions—and now it’s adding a new All-Wheel Drive Sport package aimed at sport-minded snowbelters. Essentially, the Charger AWD Sport’s equipment list mirrors that of the Charger Blacktop package, but with the addition of four driven wheels. If this formula seems familiar, it’s because Chrysler recently pulled nearly the exact same rabbit out of its product-planning hat with the 300S-based 300 Glacier Edition. 

To refresh your memory, the Charger AWD Sport’s stuff that was swiped from the Blacktop includes a gloss-black grille insert, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters (the Sport is the only all-wheel-drive Charger to get them), sport seats, sport calibration for the transmission, and a thumping Beats Audio sound system. The Sport also gets unique 19-inch aluminum wheels with black-painted inserts, as opposed to the Blacktop’s 20-inch, all-black units. Dodge is making the snow-friendly Sport package available on Charger SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, and R/T Plus models. SXT-based cars share their V-6 power with standard SXT Chargers, but get a sport-tuned exhaust and cold-air intake that bump output from 292 hp to 300; R/T-based models get the same 370-hp Hemi V-8 as regular versions.

Buyers can order a Charger AWD Sport now, but Dodge will only build the winter-ready model between now and February. Specifying the package adds just $1395 to the price of an all-wheel-drive Charger SXT or SXT Plus, and only $1195 above the cost of an all-wheel-drive R/T or R/T Plus. Doing the math, that means buyers get the Sports, er, sporty looks for between $33,685 and $36,685.

The exelero, commissioned by the tyre company Fulda is a chopped-down two-seater coupe. Though it is much more than just a show car. During the tests at the Nardo high-speed oval, the model reached the top speed of 218.38 miles per hour even though it weighed around 2.6 tonnes. It can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.4 seconds. The design of the car is the result of the competition among the students at the Pforzheim Polytechnic Department of Transport Design which has designed the show vehicles for Fulda during the past. The designing of the 24 year old Fredrik Burchhard was selected and the entire work was coordinated with Mayback design centre in Sindelfingen. Basing on the Maybach 57 limousine the project required a certain amount of re-engineering: the A-pillar and the doors were to be shifted backwards and the steering column, the pedals and the gearshift had to be relocated altogether. The benchmark 550- bhp v12 engine was prepared for 5.9 litres and tuned for 700 bhp with over 738 lb ft of torque. The final dimensions which were 5890mm long, 2140mm wide and just 1390 mm high the car was packed with a full-spec interior that included leather, neoprene, aluminium and the carnbonfibre finishes. Rapper  Bryan “Birdman” Williams, reportedly spent $8,000,000 on the one-off Maybach Exelero coupe. The rapper has a net worth of $125 million.

Bugatti Veyron

Not just a super car that carries on the name of racing driver Pierre Veyron, who, while racing for the original Bugatti car manufacturer, won the 24 hours of Le Mans in 1939. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 was the most powerful and the faster car in the world when it first came out in 2005, it can easily pass as a super hero`s car like Batman. It has the fastest acceleration speed, reaching 60 mph in 2.5 seconds.

Endowed with a 8.0L W16-Cylinder, four turbochargers, and a dual-clutch DSG computer-controlled manual transmission, the Veyron can reach a top speed of 253 mph. Counting a sum of 10 radiators, for the engine cooling system, for transmission oil, a heat exchanger for the air to liquid intercoolers, for engine oil etc., the car has a power to weight ratio of 529 bhp/tonne.

If we talk about performance we are dazzled by this supercars power to reach 200 and 300 km/h (124 and 186 mph) in 7.3 and respectively 16.7 seconds, wining for herself the name of the quickest-accelerating production car in history. If we count the fact that the top speed of Bugatti Veyron is 253.2 miles per hour (407.5 km/h), a speed limited electronically to prevent tire damage (it can run even faster) we can understand why this spectacular car must consume 40.4 L/100 km (4.82 mpg) when it`s running at top speed and in city driving 24.1 L/100 km.

Driven by a superstar like Tom Cruise, this supercar couldn`t name itself cheap, raising the Bugatti Veyron to a price tag of $1,700,000, a price that measures up to it`s quality. Many new designs has been released since 2006, the color might have changed, but the performance and power remain the same.

Indonesia's Automotive Investment News and INAPA 2013 Information

Domestic demand and global investment drive automotive industry in Indonesia as one of the fastest-growing markets in the world 

Since Indonesia regains investment grade status from Fitch Rating, the investments of many sectors are growing fast. A number of automakers including Toyota, Honda, Daihatsu, Mitsubishi, General Motors, Ford and Tata have raised their investment in Indonesia. Those companies have announced plans for the construction of new assembly plants that would roll out new models aimed at tapping the fast-growing Indonesian middle class. Auto sales in Indonesia are expected to reach 1 million in 2012, making it one of the world's largest markets. The Indonesia government also approved to hit an eco-car project (Low Cost and Green Car). Indonesia would become a full-scale production base for hybrid-powered vehicle by 2020.

Indonesia is also becoming a more interesting destination for investors thanks to various factors, including government support. In 2010, Indonesia emerged as the largest ASEAN market for the first time with sales of 850,000 vehicles. Indonesian government designated itself as a major automobile manufacturing base for the ASEAN region. It plans to produce 1 million vehicles per year by 2013 and 2 million vehicles per year by 2020.
Indonesia takes the lead as the largest automotive market in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations region, with 2011 sales growing 16.4% from like-2010 to 890,410 units, an analyst reports.

Investment is planned to be used to increase engine production capacity and increase the number of new models that include multipurpose passenger vehicle (MPV).

Toyota Motor
PT. Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indonesia has a mandate to realize the expansion of Toyota Motor with value U.S. $ 534.4 million (Rp 4, 81 trillion) to increase the capacity of 120,000 units per year

Honda Motor
PT. Honda Prospect Motor will complete the construction of a new plant in Indonesia valued at Rp 3,1 trillion (about 27 billion yen / U.S $ 329 million) to expand its capacity three-fold to 180 000 units per year.

Mitsubishi Motors.
PT. Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian (Mitsubishi Motor) realize an investment of U.S. $ 27.8 million (Rp250 billion) to increase the capacity of 12,000 units to 162,000 units per year

Daihatsu Motor
PT. Astra Daihatsu Motor racing to held the capacity of expansion to add 100,000 units to 430,000 units per year. The new plant is targeted to commercial production fastest at the end of this year. "In October this year, the new plant expansion completed and began full production in 2013. Additional new capacity we can use it for anything good for the production of Xenia and Avanza, including for low cost and green car [LCGC)

Nissan Motor
Nissan Ups Investment in Indonesia. Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn announced a ramp up of investment in Indonesia, adding $400 million to increase production capacity and sales. This follows $313 million pledged last July, part of plans to triple sales growth in the ASEAN region.

GM and BMW
GM is preparing to invest US$150 million to re-open its assembly plant for a 7-seater van after seven years. According to GM, the plant would produce 40,000 vehicles per year for both the domestic and export markets, and BMW recently started local production of one of its luxury sedan models.
